What People Are Saying
The teachers honestly care about the students and help them to succeed in the classes. I am so glad that my daughter has the opportunity to learn from such amazing teachers.

I transferred to LAVCA my sophomore year because [I was being] bullying at my previous school. LAVCA helped me through tough times and felt like a big family. The teachers and students are stupendous and extremely friendly. The teachers make sure that students understand course material, and everyone stays caught up. They push us to do our best. Even though it is a virtual school, they make it feel like a public school. We [have] clubs and activities to participate in and outings are planned to go out and have fun with other students.

At Louisiana Virtual Charter Academy, I get the one-to-one attention and support that [I] need without [the] bullying I had in public school. I cannot get over how much each teacher cares. I was never interested in school till we came here. The lessons are challenging, but I have so much help from my teachers if I need it. I wish I had come here sooner. They have outings … each month [and] a virtual world where I can hang out with friends during the week or after school … . We have a real prom and graduation. It’s all the good stuff about school, without the bad from my old school. [I am] so glad to be a [LAVCA] Pelican, not a “pelican’t“!

I love my school. There are many opportunities to become whatever you want to be when you grow up. I love how you can have one-on-one time with your teachers if you are struggling with anything.

I had some great teachers who were very encouraging and always told us that if we didn’t understand something to always ask questions and seek out help with them. The school overall was perfect for me to receive a good education.

My school is an amazing online school with awesome teachers … always there for you. They have outings where you can meet your fellow students and have a good time.

My son Trenton started LAVCA in the 9th grade and now he’s in the 12th grade. He was very far behind but now he’s right where he needs to be. If I would’ve known that I would’ve registered him a long time ago. I thank the staff for working with him. They have done such a wonderful job.

I am now a dual enrollment student. I thank LAVCA for giving me the opportunity to take community college classes while in high school. I am grateful I can save money and work toward a better future. I love all my teachers. They always push me to new heights. I can see the extra effort they put into every class, and it inspires me to do the same.

I am [a] first-generation American. We speak Spanish at home. LAVCA let me embrace these two worlds instead of pushing me into a mold. … I had a really hard time showing up to my classes … [and didn’t understand] why school is so important. My teachers at LAVCA taught me about the growth mindset and gave me a worksheet that I taped to my wall and looked at every day when I woke up. They provided a club where we talked about our goals and how we would reach them. My goal was to have good grades and I achieved it. I am so happy to be part of LAVCA.
